Paul Henshaw, PhD

Dr. Paul C. Henshaw has over 30 years of industry experience working for Chevron, as well as consulting in E&P training and project management. He has worked exploration and production geology from basin analysis to EOR, including full field management. Half of his career was spent in technology development and implementation, with emphasis on heavy oil. He has worked in a variety of play types, primarily in clastic reservoirs, onshore and offshore in North/South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. He has experience across the full hydrocarbon value chain from E&P through refining and product development. In addition to field experience, he managed operations and R&D staffs, as well as worked with industry and government consortia.

Dr. Henshaw is a Visiting Professor at UC Berkeley and has taught at University of Southern California and other institutions. He was Geology Discipline Manager for Petroskills where he designed competency based courses with skilled instructors, evaluated corporate E&P training programs, and designed competency based skills development programs. He served in the US Navy as a Reserve Officer, on shipboard and various Staffs with ONR and Naval Control of Shipping; specializing in AWS and Oceanography; retiring after 20 years. He has published articles in scientific and industry journals. He is a member of AAPG, NCGS, SPE and AGU. Dr. Henshaw has a BA in Geology from UC Berkeley and an MS & PhD in Oceanography from University of Washington.
